Shall I do a quick update?

First of all, I want to say one thing.

HAPPY 8 MONTH ANNIVERSARY BECKY!
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!

Anyway, I am sitting here watching the Red Sox vs. A's on ESPN after having been flipping between the Indians vs. Royals game and the Orioles vs. Devil Rays game for a good portion of the night. My beautiful fianceé is currently curled up in bed and I plan on joining her very shortly. She looks like an angel when she is just laying there asleep, and she truly is my angel. I love you so much Becky. Thank you for everything.

Anyway, I have a job, sort of. I have been accepted to be a substitute teacher for Lunenburg County Public Schools, although I have to wait until after the October School Board meeting (which is on the 10th) before I can "officially" start. I had to go in for "Bloodborne Pathogen Training" earlier today at Central High School. I have only one observation from my short time there. I can understand the football players wearing their jersey's on game day, however, is it REALLY necessary for the cheerleaders to wear their outfits on game day? It seems to me like it would be a distraction to the little boys going through puberty. Eh, whatever. Anyway, I am hoping that once I start subbing, it will go well. Thank you for everyone who has wished me luck. I especially want to thank Becky for giving me strength and putting up with me while I have been trying to find a job. I am going to still look for something else, because even if I did get a subbing job right away after I am approved by the board, I still would not get paid until the END OF NOVEMBER! So I am still looking for another job and trying to do everything I can to help my baby with the bills. We are working hard and hope to get through it. Thanks to those of you who have offered to help. We may need to talk to you in the next few days.

Anyway, I know this has been short, but I am so drained all of the sudden. I will try my best to update more often. I hope everyone has an awesome weekend and I hope to talk to everyone soon.

Yay :-D

Awww, thanks cutie. I can't believe how tired I get on Friday nights after a week of work! That's the second Friday in a row that I fell asleep before 8:30, hehe.

Once again, congrats on the job (see, I told you that you'd pass the test!), but I hope you get something that you'll probably enjoy more (and know you'll do well with) soon. :) Don't you worry, though. I can't possibly be upset with you not having a job yet since you just gave up a good job to come move here with me. *blushes*

Oooooooh!!

Oh, I just realized what you "had to say." Doesn't show up on the regular page for some reason, maybe it's my dumb journal, you should check it out. But now that I see it, I just wanted to say thank you, you're really special to me. :)

Grrr you hit a nerve with me. I cheered through High School and wearing our uniform on game days was part of our routine as well. I do not see how it's not just as important for cheerleaders to wear their outfits. They've worked harded too and it's part of both school spirit and support to the football players. A girl in a cheerleading outfit is NO MORE distracting to a boy in puberty than a girl with skin showing or something like that. I take great offense in your comment.

You know, sadly I had a feeling that you were going to have issue with what I said. I think my entire point was the fact that do they have to wear the entire uniform (skirt and top) or could the same effect be made by wearing just the top? And, for the record, I also agree with the skin skin showing being just as distracting. I think the schools need to crack down on the dress codes, but that is another entry all together. :-P

I understand having school spirit, and I have absolutely no problem with that. I guess I also have no personal experience with this, considering I did goto an all male high school. However I did see, with my own eyes, how stupid the guys got just when the girls came down for our sister school or when one of the younger female teachers wore a skirt.

I hope you know, however, that my comment was not a personal knock on you at all. I have nothing but respect and love for you.

I used to be a cheerleader, too, just not for my high school. Admittedly, I loved the outfit. I thought it was cute. However, as a cheerleader, you gotta know, the skirts are made to be short-- they can't be too long, or you can't do much of the stunts/tumbling. I don't know how long the skirts were for the high schoolers, but I think, especially for the middle school, where there are also cheerleaders, the skirts were a bit longer because of it. However, being a teacher at the middle school (where the cheerleaders came dressed in their skirts the first day of school), I gotta agree with Michael, it COULD be a little distracting to the pre-adolescent (or in the HS case, adolescent) boys. BUT, Michael, I think the guys at Benedictine were on a completely different page altogether because you said it yourself-- it was an all boys school and they were not used to seeing girls in all their classes every single day. Hence, their "stupidity" when they saw a young female teacher with a skirt.

There is only one thing to say...

Boys will be boys and just about ANYTHING is a distractiong to a teenage boy.

Re: There is only one thing to say...

True, true, I would have to agree with that. I just think it is also in a way tempting fate, but like I said, I have no personal experience with it. :-P
